I had never seen this variety of iris, or flowers in such colors! And I never knew I could be so drawn to flowers that were primarily brown in color -- but it was certainly beautiful combined with the golden and violet purple tones as you can see. There were few in bloom the day I visited this botanic garden near Los Angeles, California, but thankfully this one was. I got caught in the rain showers a few times but it left the flowers just sparkling with these fresh raindrops!
